This year we offered a plant plug scheme from our award winning farm.
We selected and put together the perfect combination and succession
of vegetable, herb and salad plants for you to grow and enjoy all year
round.
You can no longer
join the scheme for this year however we will be running the scheme
again in 2010, if you would like to express an interest in the scheme
email boxscheme@warbornefarm.co.uk or call 01590 688488.

• We deliver plants at the
optimum time for planting out
• This reduces any uncertainty
of growing plants from seed, increases the chance of the crop surviving,
and reduces the time to harvest
• Varieties chosen for their
flavour and reliability of cropping – over 10 years experience.
• More than 180 varieties
of vegetable, salad, herbs, flowers and fruit throughout the year.
• Organic seed and compost,
certified to the highest standards by the Soil Association

• Raised on our specially designed
heated benches with overhead automatic mist irrigation system
• Planting from plugs make
growing more tangible, alluring and impressive for children
• Parents shape children’s
eating habits for a lifetime. Garden produce creates a “positive
food environment”, and it’s a winning low cost strategy
to improve nutrition of children at a time of rising food costs and
when paediatric obesity is an epidemic problem.
• Having the opportunity to
help grow and prepare vegetables is the biggest factor that increases
the likelihood of children eating them, and studies show they are 7
times more likely to eat vegetables than children not involved with
growing
• Enjoy growing, which further to being healthy in itself, integrates
nutrition, education and food provision. Experiences in the garden and
in the kitchen foster a better understanding of how the natural world
is sustained and where food comes from.
• Children in particular feel
a sense of ownership; planting, nurturing and harvesting the crop as
well as cooking and enjoying the food.
• Harvest straight from your
garden for unrivalled freshness and nutrient content; plot to pot in
minutes. As soon as you pick a vegetable it starts to decompose, as
the sugars turn to starch. .
• Choice of indoor or outdoor exotics. If you don’t have
a greenhouse or polytunnel you can still have outdoor varieties of tomato,
aubergine, melon etc
• Information on growing always included but also available on
website. We will support you through each season – how to grow
and when to harvest.
