We grow many varieties of vegetable on our farm, the vegetables fall into different groups, this important for crop rotation and we carefully plan where each group of plants is sown.

Alliums - is the onion genus, with about 1250 species, making it one of the largest plant genera in the world. They are perennial bulbous plants that produce chemical compounds (mostly cystein sulfoxide) that give them a characteristic onion or garlic taste and odour, this family includes onions, leeks, garlic, spring onions, chives and shallots.

Beetroot Family. includes Beetroot, Quinoa, Spinach, Swiss Chard, Spinach Beet

Brassicas - Brassica group provides more types of vegetables than any other genus. Brassica vegetables are highly regarded for their nutritional value. They provide high amounts of vitamin C and soluble fiber and contain multiple nutrients with potent anti-cancer properties. Included in this group are cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, kale, Kohl Rabi, swede and turnip.

Carrot Family- includes Carrot, Celeriac, Celery, Fennel, Parsley, Parsnip

Daisy Family includes Chicory/Endive, Jerusalem Artichoke, Lettuce

Marrow Family includes Cucumber, Courgette, Marrow, Melon, Pumpkin,Squash

Legumes are fruits or seeds of anything that comes in a pod.Common edible legumes include peas, mange tout, Runner beans, French Beans,peanuts, lentils, chickpeas, and soybeans.

Potatoes Family includes Aubergine, Pepper, Potato, Tomato
